Peanuts roasted in a pan. Jaggery melted slow. Poured together and pressed flat before it sets. Cut by hand into pieces while still warm. No machine. No refined sugar. No preservatives. The chikki your grandparents bought from the village fair — made exactly the same way in Tiptur, Karnataka.
Groundnut chikki is one of those things that sounds simple until you try to make it. The jaggery has to be cooked to exactly the right temperature — too little and it stays soft, too much and it turns bitter. The women in Tiptur know this without a thermometer. They have been making it long enough that their hands know when it is ready.

Know Your Product (FAQ's)
Is this suitable for diabetics?
Better than refined sugar sweets — jaggery has a lower GI and groundnut fat slows sugar absorption. Consume in moderation. Consult your doctor.
Why does it look different batch to batch?
It is handmade. Jaggery colour and groundnut roasting vary naturally season to season. Not a defect — a sign it is real.
Is it gluten-free?
Yes — no wheat, maida, or gluten ingredients used.
Why is my chikki soft or sticky?
Jaggery absorbs moisture from air. Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place. Do not refrigerate.
Can children eat this?
Yes — natural sweetener, no refined sugar, no artificial colours. Safe for children above 3 years. Break into small pieces for young children.
How is this different from sweet shop chikki?
Sweet shop chikki uses refined sugar and machines. Ours uses only jaggery, made by hand in small batches by Padmavathi's group in Tiptur. No glucose syrup. No preservatives.
