( Cheif Oil Makers)
Umeshappa and Jayanthi
A couple from a small village near Kargunda, Umeshappa and Jayanthi have been part of Tengin since its inception in 2017. Every day, they travel 2km to work tirelessly in virgin coconut oil extraction — a commitment of 7 years that Umeshappa says has brought real hope to their lives, including the means to put both their children through engineering college.
"Our founder doesn't just bring customers into our oil factory to build trust — he once took us to meet his customers in person at a Bangalore event. Understanding their expectations motivated us to do even better. We keep our factory clean and hygienic to deliver the best quality," says Jayanthi.
Today, they carry forward the traditional art of oil-making — proudly, and for future generations.
(Guardian of the Farm)
Sannamma
She has been working in Tengin farms for 20 years taking care of our farm. She is building a legacy for future generations to remember. Meet the lady with the most generous smile, Sannamma.
Sannamma started working at the coconut farms since 20 years now. She has seen some really tough times and her immense support taking care of the farms cannot go unnoticed. Since the inception of Tengin in 2017, Sannamma has found a more stable job with coconut shell cleaning. In Sannamma's case, age is just a number - she is nearing 70 now but she loves to be in the farms everyday, dedicated to her work and spreading joy around!
"Not only do I get to do what I love, but I'm also joyous that Tengin has provided me with a source of income and I can pass this tradition for generations", says Sannamma.
We are glad we are able to make an impact in Sannamma's life and bring a smile on her face!
(Master of Coconut Peeling)
Swamyanna
After 10 years of peeling coconuts for 50 paise each in multiple villages, Swamyanna was exhausted. He really needed a stable job where he can earn what he deserves and be close to his family.
When Swamy Anna heard about Tengin, he was intrigued. Since the Tengin farms was in his own village, he was very keen on the opportunity to work there and his manifestation came true.
"I was very sad about not having a stable job in my village. Not only did I have to stay away from my family but I was also underpaid for my work. Fortunately Tengin offered me a full-time job of coconut peeling rated at 1.5 rupees per coconut. Now, I earn better than before and it has created hope for my entire family" says Swamyanna.
Peeling coconuts by hand is no easy feat but Swamyanna turns them into miracle oil with dedication and love.
