Gurellu chutney is known by different names in different places, Karale chutney in Maharashtra, Uchellu chutney around Bangalore, and Ramtil chutney in parts of North India. It is a much-loved specialty from North Karnataka, mainly because the taste is so distinct and it goes with almost anything.

Made using 11 natural ingredients, it has that raw, authentic podi flavor that feels proper and traditional, not overly processed. If you want a chutney podi that stands out from the usual options, this gurellu chutney powder is a solid one to keep at home.

How To Use?

For Idli/Dosa:
• Sprinkle a generous amount of chutney powder on top of your hot idli or dosa.
• Add a little ghee or oil for extra flavor and enjoy!

For Upma:
• Mix 1-2 teaspoons of chutney powder into your cooked upma.
• Stir well and serve hot.

For Akki Rotti/Chapathi/Paratha:
• Sprinkle chutney powder on the rotti or paratha before serving.
• Pair with a dollop of ghee or curd for a complete meal.

For Rice:
• Add 1-2 teaspoons of chutney powder to your hot rice and mix well.
• Top with ghee for a rich, flavorful taste.

Storage Instruction

• Store in an Airtight Container: Once you open it, move the podi into an airtight dabba and close it tight. That is what keeps the aroma in.

• Refrigeration (Optional): If it is humid at home, the fridge is fine. Just do not leave it loosely covered.

• Avoid Moisture: Use a dry spoon, shut the lid right after, and keep it away from steam. Moisture is what makes it clump.
